WNC’s Lifeline: From Hurricane Relief to Ongoing Community Support.

Born from the urgent aftermath of Hurricane Helene, our mission began with a simple yet powerful act: getting help to those who couldn’t be reached. Operating out of a small hangar at the Avery County Airfield in Spruce Pine, NC, we became a crucial link in the supply chain, redirecting vital resources to families in immediate need.
Within days, a local response blossomed into a nationwide movement. Volunteers and donations poured in, enabling us to build an advanced infrastructure and deploy specialized teams to reach stranded individuals and deliver life-saving aid.
While our initial focus was on the immediate crisis of Hurricane Helene, our commitment to the Spruce Pine community is enduring. As an active 501(c)(3) non-profit, we are now focused on long-term recovery. Our efforts include food replenishment, supporting reconstruction through vetted local contractors, and providing ongoing assistance to residents in need. We are proud of our roots and remain dedicated to serving Spruce Pine for the long haul.
